At Capo Vaticano, visitors find in perfection what Calabria is known for within and beyond the borders of Italy: waters of sparkling emerald green, picturesque sandy beach bays and a breathtaking panorama.
On a rocky ledge of world-famous Capo Vaticano and in the comune of Ricadi, lies holiday home residence Praia di Fuoco (Beach of Fire). On the ca. 26,000 m2 estate, there are several small holiday homes, which the owner took care to place in such a way as to as to ensure the privacy of those seeking relaxation at his accommodations and to preserve the authenticity of the property.
From the trails along the steep coast, your gaze wanders as far as the Lipari Islands and Sicily. A stepped path takes you down to the private sandy beach (for external guests only accessible by boat). From there, you can walk on to other marvelous beaches which are otherwise only accessible by boat.
The holiday homes were built in traditional local style, which bears witness to Calabria’s eventful history with centuries of foreign rule.
Each holiday home is individually designed and in harmony with the grounds, which are lush with eucalyptus trees, pines and cacti. Furnishing of the houses is unpretentious but functional, which is based on the owner’s wish to keep things natural inside, too.
We have chosen for your stay holiday homes Capri (max. 6 pers.) and Lipari (max 8 pers.). On request, you can also book holiday homes Alicudi, Ammiraglia and Vulcano with us.
The holiday homes are similar in layout and furnishing, which includes: 4-burner gas stove, oven and refrigerator with freezer compartment in the kitchen; double bed in the bedroom(s); shower/WC/bidet in the bathroom(s); sofa bed for two in the spacious living-dining room.
WiFi access is available in the communal area of Praia di Fuoco.
Each holiday home comes with a spacious outdoor area, which, in most cases, offers a breathtaking view of the sea. The roofed terraces are furnished with outdoor tables and chairs.
The private beach of Praia di Fuoco, where white sand and crystal clear waters of bright turquoise await you, is accessible from the top of the steep coast via paved steps. Important: You should be surefooted enough to use them!
Parking: Although Praia di Fuoco is located on the steep coast, parking is no problem and available on the spacious, fenced premises.
The nearest supermarket and a ristorante with pizzeria are ca. 300 m walk from Praia di Fuoco.

Tropea with its wonderful Old Town and fascinating history is a place you should really take a closer look at and it takes you only a few minutes by car to get there.
Should it come to pass, against all odds, that you have taken enough delight in the breathtaking panorama at Praia di Fuoco, then do stop by the friendly small town of Pizzo.
From morning to night, people are drawn to Piazza della Repubblica. You must stop at one of the numerous ice cream parlors and try the famous tartufo, which was 'invented' at Pizzo: It is a chocolate-nut ice cream creation, filled with liquid chocolate cream and dusted with cocoa.
