The Lipari (Aeolian) Islands are a popular destination of excursions and easy to reach from Tropea.
Some of the islands are widely known, some are not, but each island is unique, has its own charm - be it Stromboli with its active volcano or green Salina.

The Lipari Islands, also known as the Aeolian Islands, are one of the most fascinating archipelagos in the Mediterranean Sea. From the west coast of Calabria, on clear days, they seem to be just within reach.
The seven inhabited islands Alicudi, Filicudi, Lipari, Panarea, Salina, Stromboli and Vulcano are of volcanic origin, no two are alike, each one is definitely unique. Stromboli is even Europe’s most active volcano and, on average, erupts several times per hour. A sight to see, even from afar, and never to forget: the fire of Stromboli at night. Alexander von Humboldt called the volcano the lighthouse of the Tyrrhenian Sea.
The islands are definitely worth a visit. The archipelago has been inhabited for 6,000 years and has a lot to offer also with regard to its cultural history and cuisine.
It might be interesting to book one of the day tours by speed boat, which, during the summer months, depart, for example, from Cetraro, Vibo Marina, Briatico, Tropea and Scilla.
Our offer includes holiday accommodations on the Calabrian coast with a view of the islands. And, while vactioning at one of the accommodations we arrange for at Capo Vaticano, seize the opportunity to visit the fascinating Lipari Islands.
You will definitely be thrilled!
